After we changed the company name in 2000 from Woosung Tire to NEXEN TIRE in order to enhance the image of the company, NEXEN TIRE has been achieving remarkable accomplishments and recording sales growth that ranks it at the top of the global tire industry. We currently have three manufacturing plants in Korea and China and have established a global R&D network in the U,S., China and Germany with our domestics central research institute at the core, developing products with distinguished quality and outstanding performance by quickly responding to ever-changing market needs

Established in 1942 under the name Heung-A Tire Company, Nexen Tire Co. is proud to have served the tire industry for the past 80 years. We were recognized in 1956 as the first Korean tire company.
In 1985, we dedicated our facility in Yangsan, Korea, to the production of radial tires. 6 years afterwards, in alliance with OHTSU Tire & Rubber in Japan, we sharpened and honed our development and manufacturing capabilities.
In an effort to reflect our dedication to quality and continued leadership, we changed the company name in 2000 from Woosung Tire to Nexen Tire Corporation. The name Nexen is a combination of two future-oriented words; next and century. It reflects Nexen’s will and determination to prepare for the future and to drive a better tomorrow.
In 2005, we established our US branch, Nexen Tire America, which was a great start in expanding our brand globally. In the same year, Nexen Tire was awarded a patent for the technology to manufacture rubber/stratified silicate nano-composite tires. By 2006, we had completed development on the new UHP and Winter LTR/SUV patterns. To accommodate increased global demand for the Nexen brand, we opened an additional tire manufacturing plant in Qingdao, China in 2007. After opening our U.S. location as well as other offices worldwide; it was necessary to break ground on a 3rd factory in Changnyeong, Korea in 2012. It is one of the world’s largest and most advanced tire manufacturing facilities.

The dream of Korea was bloomed amidst the sorrow of the lost nation. Embracing the hope of all Koreans, Heung-a Tire that was the former organization of Nexen Tire was born. Regardless the outbreak of the Korean War and Chaos after the war, it produced a tire in 1956 for the first in Korea based on the will, efforts, and workmanship.

The 24-hour operating research institute and the feverish passion that aims to expedite the entry to the bigger world have helped NEXEN Tire to develop
the V-shaped rotation tire for the first time in Korea and to settle as
the No. 1 enterprise that is highly acknowledged in terms of quality, technologies, and certifications.

‘Nexen Tire’ that has practiced the new vision and mission set in 2000 has become a strong business
in a small country realizing the highest sale growth in the world tire market by presenting the technical capacity
and products that drew the attention of the industry in the world.
Quality, Environment, Import and Export Policy The legal regulations shall be consistently observed and improved to ensure the safety of import/export and distribution while securing the business image as a leading and safe distribution and supply network by sharing such regulations with the interested parties. Hence, such measures are established for the safe import and export method of NEXEN TIRE Co., Ltd.
To realize this, all employees shall exert utmost efforts aiming at the effective implementation of the management plan and achievement of the goal as set for the safe import and export objectives. Thus, the Import/Export Safety Management System of the company secured a system that satisfies the AEO of Korea Customs Service and in this extent, the company’s CEO declares the safe supply of the products that satisfy the customers and that comply with the legal regulations on import/export and customs based on product stability, reliability, and accumulated technology. All the organizations and employees related to the Import/Export Safety Management System shall observe the following items.
1. Construction of the Import/Export Safety Management System and its continuous improvement
2. Compliance with the legal regulations related to the domestic and international Import/Export Safety Management System and other requirements
3. Security of transparency through the disclosure of the measures concerning import/export safety as well as other necessary information
CEO shall assume the general responsibility and authority over the management of human and physical resources for the smooth operation, consistent maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Import/Export Safety Management System, aiming at the manufacture activities of all products, while carefully selecting the general manager of AEO among the managers of the organizations to effectively secure the practice and maintenance of requirements concerning the Import/Export Safety Management System. Established in 1942 under the name of Heung-A Tire Company, NEXEN TIRE had been the first Korean tire manufacturer in 1956 after the Korean War, we have been evolving into a global player developing 60 series V-shaped rotation tire for the first in the tire industry.
Since changing the company name from Woosung Tire to NEXEN TIRE in 2000 in an effort to innovate corporate image, we have been evolving into a global player demonstrating the highest sales growth in the global tire industry.
We are operating four plants in Korea, China and Czech, with a central research institute in Magok, Seoul, we established global network including R&D centers in the U.S, China and Germany. We are developing products with excellent performance and quality in response to diversifying market quickly.
NEXEN TIRE could ensure sustainable growth over 70years based on its know-hows, technologies, manufacturing competitiveness, performing work transparently and fairly and having Code of Ethics which puts customers and employees as our top priority.
